Anticipation Builds for the 2nd Goldswift U1800 FIDE Rated Open at The Heritage School

Harare, Zimbabwe — The countdown is on for the 2nd Goldswift U1800 FIDE Rated Open Chess Tournament, set for 29–30 November 2025 at The Heritage School in Borrowdale, Harare.

After the tremendous success of last year’s debut edition—which drew over 140 players and showcased the rise of emerging talents—the Goldswift U1800 returns bigger and better. Organized by ZIM Chess Consultancy (Private) Limited and backed by the Goldswift Construction this event provides a high-quality platform for players rated below 1800 to compete in a professionally managed FIDE-rated environment.

Tournament Overview

  • Event: 2nd Goldswift U1800 FIDE Rated Open
  • Dates: 29–30 November 2025
  • Venue: The Heritage School, Borrowdale, Harare
  • Format: 6-round Swiss
  • Time Control: 60 minutes + 10 seconds increment per move
  • Eligibility: Open to all players rated 1800 and below, including unrated players.

The tournament follows FIDE standards and will be supervised by a qualified team of arbiters led by International Arbiter (IA) Simbarashe Murimi, ensuring a fair, competitive, and enjoyable experience for all participants.

The Goldswift U1800 Open continues to advance ZIM Chess Consultancy’s mission to grow Zimbabwean amateur chess.
The event serves as a stepping stone for:
